Keep the handover record before the boxes arrive
If you are taking over a home, record visible findings while rooms and cupboards are accessible. Note the date, room and any areas you could not inspect. This is a practical handover record, not a way to establish who caused a problem or who must pay for it.
Before moving furniture
Ask how the bed frame, mattress and nearby furniture will be assessed if bed bugs are suspected. Do not carry unassessed belongings into another room just to make space.
Before accepting a treatment proposal
Ask which findings support the pest identification. Keep pre-existing damage and suspected pest evidence separate in the notes.
